I have to thank Joanne from Washtucna, Washington for encouraging us to publish this sausage apple pie recipe.
To get started you will first want to preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or 175 degrees Celsius. Next you will want to take out a large frying pan, and then add in all of your ground spicy pork sausage. Fry the meat over medium high heat until the sausage is golden brown, and then drain out any excess grease. Moving along, next you will want to combine the premade apple pie filling with the sausage, mixing it until you have an even distribution of ingredients.
Next take out a nine inch pie pan, and line it with the single crust pie pastry.
Next add into the pan the sausage apple filling, level it off with the back of a mixing spoon. Dot the filling with the softened salted butter. Finally you will want to evenly sprinkle the grated sharp cheddar cheese over the top of the filling.
Your pie is now ready to bake, so slide it into the oven for half an hour, or until the crust is golden brown, and the cheese is nice and bubbly.
