To get started, first you will need to preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or 175 degrees Celsius. Next take out a nine inch pie pan, and then place into it the bottom of the pie crust pastry. Next take out a heavy bottom saucepan, and then add in the fresh skinless chopped red apples, fresh ground cinnamon, fresh ground nutmeg, allspice, firmly packed light brown sugar, rolled oats, vanilla extract, and fresh squeezed lime juice. Heat these ingredients over medium high heat, stirring until the mixture begins to boil. Next back the heat down to low, and then let the pie filling simmer for roughly ten minutes, or until the fruit and oats are nice and tender, and all of the sugar has fully dissolved. Remove the saucepan from the stove, and let the contents cool for twenty minutes.

Once cooled, spoon all of the filling into the pie pan, then evenly spread it out with your spoon. Next top the filling with small clumps of the real unsalted butter.
