To begin this delicious New York apple pie filling recipe, you will first need to take out a large sealable mixing bowl.

Next take out a sharp kitchen knife and peel, core, and slice up your fresh green apples. Place the apple slices into the mixing bowl along with fresh squeezed lemon juice. Seal the mixing bowl, and then toss the ingredients together. Next take out a Dutch oven, and pour all of your cold bottled water into it. Heat the water over medium heat. Next add into the water the sugar, all natural cornstarch, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and kosher salt. Bring the contents to a boil, stirring continuously throughout the process.
