1 Cup Of Firmly Packed Dark Brown Sugar

1 Teaspoon Of Liquid Vanilla Extract

3/4 Cup Of Melted Real Salted Butter

3 Tablespoons Of Argo Pure Cornstarch

1/2 Cup Of Quaker Quick Oats

2/3 Cup Of White Superfine Sugar

1 1/4 Cups Of Bottled Water

1 Teaspoon Of McCormick Apple Pie Spice

Preparation Instructions:

I would like to personally thank Laura of Olympia, Washington for submitting this wonderful Dutch apple pie recipe.

First you will need to take out mixing bowl, and then add in the white all purpose flour, dark brown sugar, real salted butter, and Quaker quick oats. Stir these ingredients together thoroughly, then set aside one cup of the mixture for a pie topping.

Next press the rest of the mixture into a large pie plate, then set it aside.

Moving along to the apple pie filling, take out another mixing bowl and add in the white superfine sugar, cornstarch, and bottled water. Stir these ingredients together, then pour them into a medium size saucepan. Cook the contents over medium high heat, bringing them to a full rolling boil. Let the pie filling cook at this temperature for about one minute, or until the filling starts to thicken. At this point you will want to remove the saucepan from the stove, then stir in the apples, vanilla extract, and apple pie spice. Once this delicious mixture has been evenly stirred together, pour it into the pie plate, and then top it off with the one cup of pie crust you set aside earlier. Once your apple pie is ready to bake, set your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or 175 degrees Celsius.
