Preparation Instructions:

I would like to thank Emma from sunny Rancho Cucamonga, California for submitting this sweet and tasty candy apple pie recipe.

To begin the creation process, first you will need to preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or 175 degrees Celsius.

Next take out a nine inch pie pan, and line it with the bottom pastry crust layer.

Moving right along, next take out a thick heavy bottom saucepan, and then add in the chopped skinless cored green apples, white superfine sugar, cinnamon Red Hots candy, fresh ground nutmeg, fresh squeezed lemon juice, liquid bees honey, kosher salt, ground cloves, red food coloring, pure vanilla extract and the fresh ground cinnamon. Briskly stir these ingredients together, then place them on the stove over medium high heat. Stir the contents until they start to boil, then place the heat on low, and let the pie filling simmer for ten minutes, or until it begins to thicken. Once you remove it from the stove, stir it often while it cools.

Once the candy apple pie filling is thick and syrupy, spoon it all into the pie pan, and then level it out using the back of a mixing spoon. You will then want to dot the filling with small beads or clumps of the real unsalted butter. Finally, tightly seal off the red filling with the top layer of pastry crust, then cut several small holes in this layer so that the pie can breath while being baked. And lastly, glaze the outer crust with egg white, and then sprinkle it with the powdered sugar.

You should now slide the pie into the oven to bake for forty minutes, or until the outer crust is nice and golden colored. That concludes our pie creation; hope you enjoyed it and thanks again for visiting our site.
